Miter Saw Safety

Miter Saw

The CEDE model shop is equipped with a Milwaukee 10” sliding compound miter saw. This saw is designed to make large straight and angle cuts to a material. The miter saw uses a disk blade and is brought down manually to cut the material. Because the rotation of the blade pushes down on the material being cut, there is little danger of the material (if properly places and supported on the table) of being thrown. Therefore, the miter saw may be used freehand. Maximum cutting height for material while using the miter saw is 3 inches. The maximum width of a material while using the miter saw is 6 inches.
