| The drill press’s height can be adjusted so
the correct depth of hole can be obtained. The crank to the
right of the drill presses can be raised or lowered until the
proper height is obtained. (Picture to the right). |

| Failure to adjust the drill press to the
proper heights could damage the machine or the drill bit. The
picture to the right is the results of the drill press table
being set to high, the drill bit hits the clamps.
Alternatively, offset the material to prevent the drill bit
from coming in contact with the drill press vise. |

| Use the crank to the top right of the drill press (shown
right) to lower the drill bit into the material.
When turned counterclockwise the drill press is brought downwards
toward the material. Grip the handle securely to prevent it from
slipping out of your grasp while drilling. |
